Why is it importants for clients to know their body composition?

As a Personal Trainer it is very important to let your clients be aware of their body composition. Body composition is the measurement of different items such as the amount of fat, water, and or bone within our bodies. A recommendation would be to have your body composition done roughly every 6 weeks if possible. By having their composition taken regularly it allows for them to know if they should are at risk for diseases. It also allows the client to see the progress that they are making which then turns into a motivation for the client to continue working hard towards their goals. There are many different techniques and tools needed while recording a client’s body composition. The first way would be called Skin fold method which uses a tool called a caliper. A good skin caliper will cost you somewhere around 300 dollars. A more expensive method would be the Bod pod which uses the measurement of displaced air to then calculate your other measurements. A Bod pod would more than likely be the more expensive route considering that it will cost your somewhere roughly around 50,000 dollars to purchase.

Customer Service and The Fitness Industry

Throughout the lab period today we were expected to complete a packet of guided notes which covered the field of Customer Service. The Fitness Industry is nothing but a one on one field, the client and trainer. I currently am employed and have to participate in customer service and engaging with the clients of our business, there are many different scenarios you may find yourself in. While talking with a client you should always remember to put yourself after the client or customer, they always come first! The role of customer service in the Fitness Industry would be to maintain a close relationship with your client and attempt to satisfy their needs or wants at all times. A client may come to you with goals of a better body, need help with dieting or just want to have something to do in their spare time and as a Person Trainer it is your duty to fulfill their desires at any moment!

My Role in Hypertension Awareness and Education

The last few weeks we have been learning about BP or blood pressure, hypertension and hypotension, learning the meaning of the words. my group and myself have come to acknowledge that hypertension means to have a high blood pressure which puts you at risk of a stroke, coma and potentially death. Hypotension is the condition of having an abnormally low blood pressure which is also unhealthy for the body. Hypertension is known as the “Silent Killer” because they are no extremely obvious conditions or symptoms to signify a high blood pressure. I highly recommend to any patient or client to have their BP taking on a semi-regular basis, assuring they do not have a high blood pressure. As a future Personal Trainer I will recommend to every one of my clients to stay healthy and fit because I have plenty of background knowledge to give examples of benefits!

My first Semester at FCC!

Fairfield Career Center, oh how it has been wonderful the first semester! Coming into the new school I was nervous because I came from a very different type of school, it has a terrible reputation and Fairfield is a new start for me. The teachers at my new school are the total opposite of what my home school teachers were, don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my other teachers but the instructors here are much more considerate and understanding. The work at Fairfield is extremely different, here you are pushed by your classmates in lab and instructors compared to my homeschool which assigns work and if you do not take it upon yourself to accomplish it then the fault falls on you and you can easily get behind. I’m glad I decided to come to Fairfield, it has been the best educational decision I have been honored on making myself!

What was the Multi Zumba Lab class like

I like to be around people flat out, when I am not working on the weekend I enjoy going to the movies or just out shopping because I like to be out and about. I liked having so many students being interactive with each other without judging one another which is a good feeling because I can tell from experience high school students enjoy doing. The only thing that sucked was the fact we were doing Zumba, I simply do not enjoy dancing so if we were doing something different my  experience would have been great but since we did Zumba if was good. Some of my fellow classmates decided to not participate and if resulted in them getting in trouble so once I began seeing how their scenario was panning out I just continued to give the best effort I could despite my dislike of the purpose behind the class. I also came to the conclusion that I rather be up and active rather than sitting in a desk doing notes or book work so I appreciate the effort from Mrs. Valentas to get us active.

What Makes Someone Successful

I like to think of myself as someone who acknowledges the real within someone and do not tell it any other way than real which I know can benefit but also harm someone in different situations. After that I would answer that question with a statement which is short but deep, I see no concrete answer to guarantee the outcome.  There are different levels of success which I believe would have an effect of how accomplishments are perceived but deeper than that, No one is identical to one another. For some the key may be an athletic ability they have or someone else may have the motivation to push through everything until success but what if someone else is extremely smart which is their way so is one right or better than the other? I view the response to the question the same way I view the learning process of the four core classes of my peers. The way I view or learn is different from a peer so my idea and view of success differ as well.
